Die Band war jung, hungrig und ihrer Zeit voraus. Ihr Sound: progressiver Rockabilly, wild, verspielt und mit einer Energie, die sich nicht zähmen ließ. Bei ihren Shows bebten die Räume – bis auf den letzten Zentimeter gefüllt, getragen von einer wachsenden Fangemeinde und einer magnetischen Ausstrahlung, der sich niemand entziehen konnte.
Dieses von Carlos Perón restaurierte und remasterte Tape bewahrt genau das: keine Glättung, keine sterile Perfektion – sondern die ungebändigte, analoge Kraft einer Band im Moment ihrer Entstehung.

The Hedgehogs waren eine ehemalige Schweizer Rockabilly-Band aus dem Thurgau, die besonders in den 1980er und frühen 1990er Jahren aktiv war. Die Band tourte hauptsächlich zwischen 1980 und 1985 durch die Schweiz. Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Musikvideos 1985 löste sich die Band zunächst auf. Bassist Hank Merk gründete die Band neu. Diese Formation sicherte sich Anfang der 90er Jahre einen Plattenvertrag beim holländischen Label Rockhouse Records. Die Band war bekannt für ihren Rockabilly-Sound, der 1989/90 vom Produzenten Carlos Perón sowohl analog als auch digital produziert wurde. Ihr Stil entwickelte sich hin zu “produziertem” Neo-Rockabilly. Ein bemerkenswertes Album ist “Invasion U.S.A.“, das im Juli 1990 als Vinyl LP auf Rockhouse Records erschien und 2009 von Vampirette Music als digitales Remaster wiederveröffentlicht wurde.

The band was young, hungry and ahead of their time. Their sound: progressive rockabilly – wild, playful and bursting with an energy that couldn’t be tamed. Their gigs had venues shaking – packed to the rafters, fuelled by a growing fanbase and a magnetic charisma that no one could resist.
This tape, restored and remastered by Carlos Perón, preserves exactly that: no smoothing, no sterile perfection – but the untamed, analogue power of a band at the very moment of its creation.

The Hedgehogs were a former Swiss rockabilly band from Thurgau, who were particularly active in the 1980s and early 1990s. The band toured Switzerland mainly between 1980 and 1985. Following the release of their first music video in 1985, the band initially disbanded. Bassist Hank Merk reformed the band. This line-up secured a record deal with the Dutch label Rockhouse Records in the early 1990s. The band was known for their rockabilly sound, which was produced in 1989/90 by producer Carlos Perón in both analogue and digital formats. Their style evolved into ‘produced’ neo-rockabilly. A notable album is “Invasion U.S.A.”, which was released in July 1990 as a vinyl LP on Rockhouse Records and re-released in 2009 by Vampirette Music as a digitally remastered version.
