Er war nicht nur Gründer der weltweit bekannten Kultband, sondern auch Initiator des weltweit ersten Videoclips The Evening‘s Young aus dem zweiten Album Claro Que Si und fünf Jahre aktives Mitglied der Band. Mit „Wolfsheim“ und dem Titel „The Sparrows and the Nightingales“ eroberte Perón mit diesem Newcomer-Act zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt die Charts. Carlos Perón ist bekannt für seine meisterhaften musikalischen Umsetzungen von Literaturvorlagen. Schon 1983 produzierte er den Song Der Komtur, der auf der Novelle von Jeremias Gotthelf basiert, welcher 1984 in England zum Kulthit wurde und erst 1992 durch einen Remix von Thorsten Fenslau in Deutschland zum Szenehit avancierte. 1990 komponierte Perón die Musik für Harald Schmidts TV-Show Schmidteinander. Er bezeichnet sich selbst als den “einzigen legitimen Nachfolger von Evita Peron”, verfügt ansonsten über außergewöhnliche und belegbare musikalische Referenzen und gilt bis heute als ebenso schillernde wie ruhelose Persönlichkeit.

Carlos Perón and YELLO made music history with the legendary top sellers Solid Pleasure, Claro Que Si and You gotta say yes to another excess. He was not only the founder of the world-famous cult band, but also the initiator of the world’s first video clip, The Evening’s Young, from the second album Claro Que Si, and an active member of the band for five years. Perón later conquered the charts with this newcomer act with “Wolfsheim” and the title “The Sparrows and the Nightingales”. Carlos Perón is known for his masterful musical adaptations of literary works.
