Mit ihrem Album “The World Without You” präsentieren Silver Unit eine Sammlung lupenreiner und doch andersartiger Pop-Songs: eine Ode an den Abschied. Die Edel-Melancholiker laufen zur Bestform auf: “Don’t go astray”, ein kraftvoller Opener voller Energie und Weltschmerz, “Layers” klingt und schmeckt wie bittersüßer Honig und “Julia Sound”, die sehnsüchtige Ballade. Seinen Namen bekam “Julia Sound” von einem seit 20 Jahren nicht identifizierten Geräusch im Pazifik, rätselhaft und tief. “Iota”, ein Song mit ständig fortentwickelnder Coda lässt seine Hörer mit offenem Mund und nur einem Wunsch zurück: das Album noch einmal von vorne hören.

Das Future-Folk-Duo dringt mit seiner ganz eigenen Mischung aus Indie-Rock, Shoegaze und Elektronik einmal mehr in unbekannte Tiefen vor. Die epischen Synthesizer, die warme Melodie und der poetische Text ziehen den Hörer in genau den dunklen Ozean, in dem das bis heute unidentifizierte Geräusch 1999 aufgezeichnet wurde, das “Julia Sound” seinen Namen gegeben hat.

Silver Unit bietet eine überraschend frische Kombination aus traditionell gefertigter Folk-Rock-Musik und zukünftigen Sounds. Eher zufällig trafen sich Marc und La-Kai in einem heimischen Aufnahmestudio, wo sie beide an ihren eigenen Projekten arbeiteten. Nachdem er Marc’s hypnotisierende Melodien gehört hatte, begann La-Kai sofort mit der Programmierung von elektronischen Drums und Synths und brachte seinen ganz besonderen Stil in den Mix ein. Als sie das Ergebnis ihrer gemeinsamen Arbeit hörten, beschlossen sie, Silver Unit zu werden und ihre Arbeit fortzusetzen, um neue Horizonte zu entdecken.

With their album “The World Without You” Silver Unit present a collection of pure and yet different pop songs: an ode to farewell. The noble melancholiacs are in top form: “Don’t go astray”, a powerful opener full of energy and world-weariness, “Layers” sounds and tastes like bittersweet honey and “Julia Sound”, the longing ballad. Julia Sound” got its name from a sound in the Pacific that hasn’t been identified for 20 years, mysterious and deep. “Iota”, a song with a constantly evolving coda, leaves its listeners with an open mouth and only one wish: to hear the album again from the beginning.

The Future-Folk-Duo penetrates once more into unknown depths with their very own mixture of Indie-Rock, Shoegaze and electronics. The epic synthesizers, the warm melody and the poetic lyrics pull the listener into the dark ocean where the unidentified sound of 1999, which gave its name to “Julia Sound”, was recorded.

Silver Unit offers a surprisingly fresh combination of traditional folk rock music and future sounds. Rather accidentally, Marc and La-Kai met in a local recording studio, where they both worked on their own projects. After hearing Marc’s hypnotic melodies, La-Kai immediately started programming electronic drums and synths and brought his very special style to the mix. When they heard the result of their collaborative work, they decided to become Silver Unit and continue their work to discover new horizons.
