Julia Sound” ist die erste Singleauskopplung aus dem Album “The World Without You”. Das Future-Folk-Duo Silver Unit präsentiert eine sehnsüchtige Ballade und dringt mit einer ganz eigenen Mischung aus Indie-Rock, Shoegaze und Elektronik einmal mehr in unbekannte Tiefen vor. Die epischen Synthesizer, die warme Melodie und der poetische Text ziehen den Hörer in genau den dunklen Ozean, in dem das bis heute unidentifizierte Geräusch 1999 aufgezeichnet wurde, das “Julia Sound” seinen Namen gegeben hat.
Silver Unit bietet eine überraschend frische Kombination aus traditionell gefertigter Folk-Rock-Musik und zukünftigen Sounds. Selten passt “Future Folk” so gut wie bei Silver Unit. Darin finden sich die beiden wesentlichen Komponenten des Projekts. “Future”, das ist La-Kai, Elektronik-Tüftler und Sound-Gestalter, inspiriert von Underworld, Boards of Canada und Air. “Folk”, das ist Marc N., Sänger und Songschreiber im Stil von Nick Drake, Neil Young oder Mark Kozelek. “Julia Sound” is the first single from the album “The World Without You”. The Future-Folk-Duo Silver Unit presents a longing ballad and penetrates once more into unknown depths with their very own mixture of Indie-Rock, Shoegaze and electronics. The epic synthesizers, the warm melody and the poetic lyrics draw the listener into the dark ocean where the unidentified sound of 1999, which gave its name to “Julia Sound”, was recorded.
Silver Unit offers a surprisingly fresh combination of traditional folk rock music and future sounds. Rarely does “Future Folk” fit as well as Silver Unit. It contains the two essential components of the project. “Future” is La-Kai, electronic inventor and sound designer, inspired by Underworld, Boards of Canada and Air. “Folk” is Marc N., singer and songwriter in the style of Nick Drake, Neil Young or Mark Kozelek.
